Third Nine Weeks:
Literacy: Students will be asked to work on many reading strategies in order to hone their stamina, fluency and comprehension. Independent reading at home and at school are fundamental and extremely important to helping our scholars achieve success. This nine weeks is focused on historical fiction. We are reading literature about the Civil Rights Movement.

Language Arts: Students will be engaged in small groups that are catered to their specific reading levels.
Math: This nine weeks students are working on geometry and fraction concepts. If you visit our shamrock gardens school web page there are educreation videos created by Ms. Polsgrove that can walk you through the strategies and steps we are teaching in the classroom. This nine weeks we will be using EOG prep homework created by the district in an attempt to help prepare our students for the types of questions they will see on the EOG.
Science: This nine weeks students will be learning about ecosystems. They will explore the different types of ecosystems on this earth. They will also learn about the different animals that live within those ecosystems and the adaptions that make living in extreme places possible.
